Employee Net Promoter Score:
Find Out What Your Employees Really Think

Companies with highly engaged and satisfied employees show a 21% increase in profits. But do you have any idea how you, as an employer, are doing and whether your employees are truly satisfied? The answer lies in the Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS).

What is Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS)?

The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) measures the engagement and loyalty of your employees. It literally tells you to what extent your employees would recommend you as a great place to work. It doesn’t involve lengthy surveys; instead, it’s a simple satisfaction survey for employees that provides you with an immediate understanding of your performance. Based on this, you can plan effective steps to improve your employer branding.

eNPS Can Save Your Company Considerable Costs

While eNPS is just a metric, it helps you make the right decisions to ensure your employees feel well at your organization.

Satisfied employees are crucial for a company’s success:

  • They deliver higher-quality work – satisfaction leads to a 12% increase in productivity, and according to some studies, even more.
  • They reduce overall turnover and associated costs – a strong employer brand can save up to 50% of recruitment expenses for new team members. People won’t want to leave, and you’ll always have applicants.
  • They provide an excellent customer experience – ensuring satisfied customers.

That’s why companies with an engaged team typically see a 21% higher profit.

How to measure eNPS?

The simplicity of measuring eNPS lies in regularly asking a single question:

“On a scale from 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend us as an employer to your friends and acquaintances?”

Based on their responses, employees are categorized into three groups:

  • Promoters – Enthusiasts (answers 9–10)
  • Passives – Passive Satisfied (answers 7–8)
  • Detractors – Critics (answers 0–6)

By subtracting the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters, you get a score ranging from -100 to 100. The higher the score, the better you are doing as an employer.

Since answering this question takes only a few seconds, you can quickly gather enough data from your team, and the results will be highly informative.

How Do You Know if Your Company Is Doing Well?

Let’s say you already know your eNPS score. But is it high or low? When do you need to take action?

eNPS is a standardized and widely used method, so you can easily compare your results with other companies. However, you should be cautious because average eNPS scores vary by industry and different types of organizations and professions. Comparisons can provide a rough idea but should not be overemphasized.

It’s more beneficial to track your own eNPS over time, aim to improve it, and promptly address any declines to prevent employee attrition. You can also compare individual teams or divisions within your company.

Generally, an eNPS score between 10 and 30 is considered good, and scores above 30 are exceptional. In 2022, companies like Innogy and Karvinská Mining Hospital achieved the highest scores in our country.

Practical Measurement of eNPS

The best way to measure eNPS is to integrate survey questions into your internal communication tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams. The goal is to make it as easy as possible for your team to respond and gather as much data as possible.

Measuring eNPS is part of our comprehensive mental health care program for companies at Hedepy. Within a simple and enjoyable questionnaire, we not only assess eNPS but also monitor the overall mood within your company, ensuring that any issues are detected promptly.

The greatest advantage, however, is that the solution to identified problems doesn’t solely rely on you. Based on an employee’s response, we offer specific educational videos, quick chats with psychologists, or full-fledged online psychotherapy. All these services are part of the program, allowing you to plan your personal meetings more effectively, only when they are truly needed.
